When you start to use a weapon, the damage will be of the 'normal' type. This means that it will nog give you extra bonus, just regular damage. But some weapons, or weapons which are enchanted with a specific scroll, give extre damage to special creatyre types. There are 5 kinds of damage-type which can be inflicted by a weapon:
Damage types:
1. Ancient Dwarf: against dragons, reptiles, amfibians and worms
2. Beleriand: spiders and insects, but also half-orcs, morroval, nameless, etc.
3. Fire: against living plantlike creatures, slugs, most wolves, trolls and darkwater spirits
4. Light: against orc-kind humanoids: goblins, orcs, uruks, trolls, but also spiders. NB: cries-skills are also very effective against orcs, goblins and uruks.
5. Westernesse: undeads
Ettenmoors
For Ettenmoors extra damage against a monster player - a creep - can be effective.
You will encounter the following monster-player types in Etten:
1. Reaver: orc, vulnerable for Light
2. Defiler: orc, vulnerable for Light
3. Weaver: spider, vulnerable for Light and Beleriant
4. Blackarrow: uruk, vulnerable for Light
5. Warleader: uruk, vulnerable for Light
6. Stalker: warg (wolf-type), vulnerable for Fire
In conclusion, light is effective against 5 of the six monster types, so it is the most important type of damage which you can do in Ettenmoors. Moreover, orcs and uruks are vulnarable for cries, sou use cry-base spells a lot!
Loremasters and Runkeepers can use light base spells, or fire base spells. Hunters can shoot arrows which give light damage. You need light oils for that, which can be produced by a loremaster.
Be aware that many creeps have protected them self against the light damagetype...
Damage type and creatures If you want which type of creature is vulnarable against a special kind of damage, you need a loremaster. With the help of the Knowledge of the Lore-master skill, the loremaster can determine which type of damage is most effective against specific creature types.
