I typically do the figure 8 from Nobottle to Tighfield, staying on the north side of the river as the road from Foxden to the down leg has little to no ore. In two (2) loops, I picked up 84 Rich Iron, 53 gold, 4 rubies, 2 sapphire, 11 clear rock salt, 8 dark brimstone, and 50 yew logs. I don't know of any other location that will give that!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-68216825252073777822024-02-22T15:20:01.837-08:002024-02-22T15:20:01.837-08:00This is such a useful resource. Yondershire (L20-23) is a lower level zone than the eastern part of the North Downs (L25-35), so it certainly is easier to do sooner.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-51029098481626968932024-02-16T17:41:01.905-08:002024-02-16T17:41:01.905-08:00Moving up from Ancient ores (best found in Foroche...Moving up from Ancient ores (best found in Forochel) is Khazad ore. The earliest/best place to get Khazad ore is in the southern part of Eregion. You can go there as early as L45 en route to going to Moria to pick up the Legendary Item quest line. Nodes are scattered throughout the landscape and along the roadside, especially down south.

Next up is T7 Calenard ore, which I managed to obtain at L54, after I reached Lothlorien. From Lothlorien, take the Vineyards of Lorien road south to the Great River, which is a L70 zone and the first to have Tier 7 crafting materials. You can enter the Great River and mine the Calenard without penalty. However, the NPC's are L70 and must be avoided. Stick to the roads and pick up the nodes without NPC's too nearby, and you can pick up around 80% of the nodes you detect from the road without too much risk. A good loop is from a base at Thinglad up north (near Lothlorien), south to Parth Celebrant (an ore rich area), then back up north at the crossroads on the other road that leads to Thinglad. One loop will net 100+ chunks of Calenard ore.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-28732615421355332802024-02-10T11:17:58.163-08:002024-02-10T11:17:58.163-08:00Nan Wrathwren in the north down is far the best pl...Nan Wrathwren in the north down is far the best place for all T2 loot except hides.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-25992995712879488462024-02-09T08:43:04.373-08:002024-02-09T08:43:04.373-08:00Just an update for rich iron and gold. A good time to head this way is at L45 when your toon is ready to enter into Moria for the first time to acquire a Legendary Weapon. A good idea is to set the Milestone at Echad Dunann, nearby the areas rich in skarn.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-81814123594314644272024-01-31T13:44:19.845-08:002024-01-31T13:44:19.845-08:00Leading into Ancient metals, there are good deposi...Leading into Ancient metals, there are good deposits in the Misty Mountains on the eastern side around the North High Pass and the South High Pass, with particularly dense concentrations of ore in the Giant Halls valley. As mentioned, Forochel is a superb place for Ancient metals. It turns out that the Angle south of the Trollshaws is rich in Scholar mats in some locations but not so much for ores.

Next up goes beyond the original article into Khazad metals. My guess here is that Eregion would be the best place to obtain those prior to entering into Moria.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-10309506614034683632024-01-22T21:37:31.225-08:002024-01-22T21:37:31.225-08:00I'll try to update regions as I go through the...I'll try to update regions as I go through them up the tiers. This guide is great for the early/mid game.

So far, the best observations are:
1. The eastern side of the North Downs around Esteldin and all along the N-S road and in the farms and landscape, lots of Rich Iron and Gold. Nodes go deep into Namlang East as well.
2. The earliest place to get into Dwarf-Iron and Platinum (where critters aren't purple at around L30) is just past the Last Bridge in the Trollshaws. Pick up the into quest lines there and nodes appear all along the road and quest locations. I have a notion the Angle might have one tier higher nodes within the region (I'll find out soon).
3. For next-tier Ancient ores, it looks like Misty Mountains might be the best earliest location, particularly around the Giant Halls. Eastern Angmar is scary.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-38885925035725757452024-01-15T17:17:59.065-08:002024-01-15T17:17:59.065-08:00Now, years later, these maps are still quite usefu...Now, years later, these maps are still quite useful and relevant. The node locations seem to have shifted around a bit, but doing a wide-area search in the area will pick up the nodes on the radar.

I have taken this to the next level by attempting to achieve crafting tiers well above my toon level, i.e., venturing into places with "purple monsters" that will squish you if you stumble into combat. There's an art to going into these forbidden high-level zones and coming out alive. Ores tend to be on the landscape. So, often, all it takes is to patiently wait out the purple monsters sitting near the nodes to move away and then dash in on horseback, prospect the undefended nodes and then high-tail out of there before the critters return!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8998494287530797931.post-52483143879184576522023-10-16T17:12:12.600-07:002023-10-16T17:12:12.600-07:00Found your page easier to use than the wiki.
